Just have to state my annoyance that the news on NPR today warned farmers and gardeners to prevent late blight by spraying "pesticides." ARG! I am compelled to scream at them every time FUNGICIDES! FUNGICIDES!

Ahem. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I found the reference NPR took, it's here: http://www.wetmtv.com/news/national/story/Tomato-growers-told-to-ta...

"Cornell University plant pathologist Meg McGrath says tomato growers can spray pesticides to try to prevent infection, but once late blight
takes hold, the plants are lost."

Yes, late blight is a fungus and shouldn't be treated (if you intend to treat it with chemicals at all) with pesticides. Followed the link from the NPR report to Meg McGrath's late blight page and found this link for home gardeners looking to use fungicides.
