Come and enjoy the summer weather at an IthaCan cookout, pool party and produce swap. Mark Norton, Brigid Cassidy and Katie Quinn-Jacobs invite you to visit the backyard of Ludgate Farm & Market for fun, food, and entertainment. "I usually direct seed them in mid-april.  It does take some patience, though, as it takes about 3 weeks for germination.  One tip I found helpful is to soak the seeds overnight before planting."

NPR: pesticide ≠ fungicide

Just have to state my annoyance that the news on NPR today warned farmers and gardeners to prevent late blight by spraying "pesticides." ARG! I am compelled to scream at them every time FUNGICIDES! FUNGICIDES!

yes, we do have geese, one breeding pair, but we either eat the eggs or have her brood them (no successful hatches as of yet, they're only two years old)... any idea what she'd want to pay for them?

No worries, CJ. And I'm not being silly here when I say that Ning has very good "Help" (see tab above), which is no small feat. When I was crawling up the Ning learning curve, I used it quite a bit. Am also happy to answer questions as well. -- K
