Rhubarb sauce at Kate's house

June 9, 2012 from 9am to 12pm
Let's get together and make rhubarb sauce and can it!  Having rhubarb sauce, like applesauce, long after the season ends is a great treat and complements winter meals nicely. We'll use rhubarb from our own gardens or purchase some locally.Bring your own pint or half liter sized jars and lids.We will split the cost of the produce and other ingredients, figure about $10 each.Limit 10 participants.See More

Sure Jel - low sugar

Hello all, I hesitate to ask, but does anyone want about a dozen packets of Sure Jel low sugar that uses Splenda?  A friend bought them by mistake and figures I can find a home for them. Thanks,RoxySee More

"Tasty snack for humans? Most of mine went to the blue jays this year. But last year we soaked them (hull and all) in a brine for 24h and then roasted them gently in the oven. This did make for a tasty snack, but we had waaay too many, so the…"

Drying sunflowers for eating

Morning all,We grew a field of sunflowers this year.  I took the seeds (still in their hulls) and put them on a dehydrator but it seems I went too far, the seed inside dried up to something inedible.  Does anyone have some basic instructions for getting sunflower seeds from the flower to a tasty snack? Thanks,RoxySee More

Yes I would totally be interested in org malting barley! I'm an avid homebrewer contemplating taking things to next level by "malting my own". Perhaps thinking of starting a farmhouse brewery. I'll let you know about varieties, 2-row barley is usually preferred over 6-row for flavor reasons, though 6-row is prized for its extra enymatic supply.

Just curious what farm is this from/for?

Thanks!
Sam

Best,

Hmm...not sure. Maybe you guys should use the intra-net (internal email) instead, like you and I did last week. I use it alot and there hasn't been any problems...yet.

Sounds like a good idea re: adding photos. We're all new at this, so don't sweat it. Oh...and remember that adding comments (like this one or the ones you put on my page) are public too. They also show up on the Recent Activity roster. To send a private message use the Send Message function beneath the target members photo. Works like email and no one else can read it.

Roxy - you slay me! Takin' the bunny for a bit of a spin? I've saved you a bottle of the Stout for your consumption, and if I could impose, any comments you may have. Missed you at canning yesterday - it was a great group!
