wanted: pickling cukes

Hi folks,My own cukes didn't make it this year. I spoke to 5 farmers at the Tuesday market and none had extra to sell.  Do you have extra or know of a farmer who might?  I'd like to pickle a dozen or so jars.Thanks!See More

"Liz, to remove the burnt flavor from the sauce try one of these two fixes after you open what you've canned: add a large raw peeled potato and cook on very low heat (this is what my mom used to do) add a peanut butter a tablespoon at a time…"

Saving Burnt Tomato's??

I had stored 15 gallons worth of whole tomatoes in the freezer but had to move.  So I am now canning the frozen tomatoes and have them down to boiling to thicken up a bit. But I must have burnt them because just tasting an ENTIRE canning pot full of them, and they taste BURNT.  Is there ANYTHING I can make to cover up the burnt taste and can them? BBQ sauce, Ketchup? I really don't want to have to toss them all out.    I already sealed up 7 pints which worth... :(Any words of wisdom are much…See More

pickling beets without sugar?

I pickled beets two years ago and seem to remember not using sugar or sweetener, but now I can't find any recipes to do it again.  Does anybody have a good one to share? thanks.See More
