"Nancy, If you are going to buy tulle, I would suggest you check on line. I can't remember where I bought it for but I do remember it was about $.35 a yard, all nylon and made in the USA. Fabric Direct maybe? A zillion colors. You can make your…"

"Thanks for the update Jayne!  I really need to get hoops set up in the garden.  It seems like they could be very flexible just left in the ground and used for different situations as needed . . . and wouldn't my six year old…"

"Tulle netting worked really well keeping the birds off the berries last year.  The I reused it for flea beetle control on brassicas and potatoes later in the season. I used hoops- the same ones I use for remay. They were just tall enough to fit…"

"Hi Krys, The conventional wisdom is not to refreeze previously frozen then thawed meat because of the possibility of bacteria growth.Especially if you are grinding it into sausage.  For sure I think you could use previously frozen venison to…"

strawberries

I have about 50 strawberry plants and the crop looked great--till the birds got to them. usually I'm delighted with all the birds our garden attracts as they take care of many pests. But in this case, they WERE the pests!  I'm thinking of covering them with tulle fabric this year to keep the birds off.Any other ideas or successes re: discouraging birds?See More
