Stocking Up on Staples, Part 1

This is a discussion thread to continue the group organizing that we began in the first session of Stocking Up on Staples. Thanks to everyone who participated and shared their experiences. It was great to hear all of your individual household goals for stocking up, answer questions and share how-to's, etc.

Next Steps:

Nancy Norton will be coordinating the group order. Please send her your order sheet by next Saturday: Jan 22, 2011.
The group will communicate through this thread to edit the group order.
Nancy will send a final order to Katie for bulk food pricing.
Tom Shelley will organize the non-food purchases, after the group food order is complete.

I received a couple of emails from the packing supply company. The first tells me that they expect us to receive our order in the afternoon of Friday, March 4. So I will offer a packing party at my house on the morning of Saturday, March 5. I'm planning on going to the cheese-making workshop, so I'm hoping we can meet from 9 - 11 a.m.

It seems to me that Katie has fulfilled her initial commitment of two sessions for this group, so I'm reluctant to suggest another meeting at her house. She is invited to attend on March 5 if she is able, but we may be on our own.

The second email from the company informs us that due to unprecedented demand, they are out of a couple of sizes of the Mylar bags, but they expect more to be delivered to them on Monday, Feb. 28, so I don't think it will interfere with our order.

Looking forward to seeing you (and to fulfilling my commitment to this workshop!),
