Strawberry picking & canning (cancelled :-( )

Strawberry picking (we'll be picking for canning on Sunday, and you're welcome to pick for yourself too)

What: Picking certified organic strawberries at a local U-pick farm.
When: Saturday June 20th, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm [50% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday, so hopefully we'll miss them in the morning].
Where: Brookside Berry Farm, Freeville [http://brooksideberryfarm.com/] meet at the Plant Science building on Tower Rd. around 9 am if you would like to carpool.
Bring: Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snacks. Optional: your kids, a friend, clean containers for picking, cash or check if you want to buy your own berries.

Strawberry jam canning

What: Learn how to safely can strawberry jam, we'll be using a low sugar recipe with a special kind of pectin so the resulting jam is much healthier.
When: Sunday June 21st, 10 am - 4 pm (stop by anytime!)
Where: Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house (yay industrial kitchen!) 508 Thurston Ave N. campus. Park along the street as I'm not sure if the parking lot is patrolled in the summer.
Bring: Yourself & a friend. Optional: canning jars
