THE JARS ARE HERE !!! COME & GET 'EM !!!

The folks at Agway were very impressed with our order, while I confess that I was a tad scared when I saw the stacked pallets. 98 cases is a lot of jars. They filled the entire back of the pickup and then there were 4 cases that rode with me in the cab. Quite the trip back home...felt every bump, but they're here safe & sound.

Last year, canning jars were a scarce item in area stores -- many even ran out. But this year, IthaCan members can beat the summer rush & save money by ordering jars as a group.

We will be putting in a bulk order for Ball canning jars with lids & rings at Agway. Agway has offered us roughly a 15% volume discount. We need to order at least 20 cases of each type of jar to qualify.

Available jars:
• wide mouth quart ($10.99/case)
• wide mouth pint ($9.49/case)
• regular mouth half pint ($7.99/case)
• quilted jelly jars half pint ($8.99/case)
• half gallon wide mouth ($9.99/case) - Note 6 jars/case

Note: There are 12 jars/case. Prices do not include sales tax.

If you are interested in joining the bulk order, please RSVP (blue link above) to this Event. Be specific about the size jar that you want. And how many cases you would like.

Order deadline: Wednesday, May 20.

If you're interested in other types of jars besides the three listed above, we might be able to order them, if there is enough interest among the membership. Indicate the type (ounces & mouth opening) and quantity on your RSVP.

We collectively purchased over 90 cases of canning jars! Woo-hoo!!

Please review the bulk order roster (see pdf file below) carefully to make sure it's correct. If you have any changes or corrections let me know ASAP. I'll be sending the order out to Agway first thing Monday (05/25/09) morning.
